Resumo

A presente pesquisa foi desenvolvida com o objetivo de avaliar as potencialidades do estipe de Euterpe edulis Martius, material vegetal desprezado por ocasião da colheita do palmito, para a produção de carvão vegetal e de subprodutos da carbonização. Foram avaliados, dentre outros fatores, os efeitos das temperaturas finais de 300 e de 500 oC, durante a pirólise do estipe de Euterpe edulis. A pirólise do estipe de Euterpe edulis mostrou-se viável, considerando-se que os rendimentos médios em carvão vegetal (28,50 %), em gases condensáveis (43,70 %) e em carbono fixo (19,30 %) foram satisfatórios, embora o teor de cinza do carvão apresentou-se elevado (5,50 %).

Abstract

The present research was developed with the purpose of evaluating the potentialities of Euterpe edulis Martius stem, discarded vegetable material by occasion of palm cabbage crop, for subproducts of carbonization and charcoal production. Effects of pyrolysis final temperatures of 300 and 500 centigrades, were analysed, among other factors. The pyrolysis of Euterpe edulis stem was viable, considering that medium revenues in charcoal (28,50 %), condensed gas (43,70 %) and fixed carbon (19,30 %) were satisfactory, although charcoal ash text was high (5,50 %).
